As an information scientist, his research focuses on commercial search engines from a user perspective, specifically examining how search engine marketing, <a href=\"https:\/\/searchstudies.org\/de\/research\/seo-effekt\/\">search engine optimization (SEO)<\/a>, and AI-generated content influence user behavior and society. His research has <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">been published<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in leading journals such as the <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Journal of the Association for Information Science and Technology<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> (JASIST), <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Journal of Documentation<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Journal of Information Science<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His academic work investigates the development and empirical testing of information search behavior <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">models<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, with a particular interest in how commercial influences affect user knowledge <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">gain<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> To conduct this research, he employs a diverse range of social research methods, including eye-tracking, laboratory behavioral studies, interviews, and representative online surveys.
