Christiane Behnert

Researcher

Dr. Christiane Behnert was a researcher at the Department of Information at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences from March 2014 until July 2019. Her primary areas of research were relevance and relevance behaviour, information searching behaviour and interactive information retrieval. In December 2021, she received her PhD by the University of Hildesheim on “User criteria in relevance judgments in academic search systems: An experimental approach to exploring relevance criteria on the example of popularity data as an element of search result presentation.”. Her doctoral research project Relevance Clues" was made possible by the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences “Promotionsförderung” funding program.

From June 2014 to July 2019, she was a member of the research committee of the faculty of Design – Media – Information.

Christiane received her MA degree in Information Science in 2013 and her Diploma in Library Studies in 2009 from the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam, Germany. During her Master studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Berlin Social Science Center Library, where she found research data management to be the subject of her Master Thesis.

Before that, she worked as a librarian at the University Library Greifswald and helped to develop the Digital Library of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
